Kaoru Shimizu bio

Born in Tokyo, Japan.Permanent resident of Greece since 1998.
Has taken vocal lessons in the class of world famous barytone Mr Costas Paskalis,

at Apollonio Odeio (Apollo Music School). Has also participated in
the seminars and master-classes MrPaskalis gave at the City of Kavala Music School in northern Greece.
For a brief period of time she has also studied with Mrs Anna-Maria Miranda, former Professor at the Conservatoir National Superieur de Musique et de la Danse, in Paris, France.
On June 2010 received her Diploma by the Municipality of Korydallos Music
School, in the class of Ms Eirini Tsirakidou, a soprano famous for her career in the USA.

On the same year she was awarded the "Featured Artist Award" at the Oikawa contest in Tokyo, Japan.
Her professional credits include a participation with the Fons Musicalis Choir
in the W.A. Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute" at Megaron Music Hall in Athens.
She has also performed in various private concerts and events, at the Opera House

(Lyriki Skini) of Athens, for the Embassy of Japan in Greece, the Sumitomo Life Insurance in Tokyo - Japan, etc.
On June 2011 she was invited by the Shimane Junior College in the City of Matsue,

to perform in a lecture and concert event held by Mr Bon Koizumi, the great-great son of Lafcadio Hearn.
​​She has developed a wide repertory of well known Italian and French arias,
German Lieder, as well as various contemporary compositions from Japanese and Greek composers.
